The end of January is always a little drab, as the cold and chill and grey just leave me feeling kind of blah. However, the last week of the month has been filled with announcements, trailers, and future projects, so I’m feeling pretty hyped for the rest of the year instead of my winter blues right now!

Archie and the gang are looking to drum up some interest in the upcoming Netflix live-action adaptation of The Archies cartoon. Apparently, The Archies is a massively popular cartoon in India, and some of Bollywood’s next generation of stars are leading the musical film when Netflix releases later this year. But Archie and the gang’s adventures in India are already available in print with The Archies in India. This trade collects all the stories where Betty, Veronica, Archie, Jughead, and Reggie have traveled to India, and features a new story where Betty and Veronica play matchmakers for a Bollywood starlet.
The Archies in India trade paperback is available in stores now, but can also be <a href="http://<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Archies-India-Archie-Superstars/dp/1645768724?crid=19TYXA7NHDG1L&keywords=the+archies+in+india&qid=1674837116&sprefix=The+Archies+in%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-1&linkCode=li2&tag=comicpagesnpa-20&linkId=2dc1c0d9f6808236621abc39fc78b8ca&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_il" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="//ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?_encoding=UTF8&ASIN=1645768724&Format=_SL160_&ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=comicpagesnpa-20&language=en_US" ></a><img src="https://ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=comicpagesnpa-20&language=en_US&l=li2&o=1&a=1645768724" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />" data-type="URL" data-id="“>pre-ordered on Amazon for shipping in Febuarary.

Every year, Boom! announces new hires and promotions in the upper echelon of their company. This year, Grecia Martinez was promoted to Marketing Coordinator after helping grow and develop Boom!’s marketing sector since her hiring in 2021. As far as new hires go, Boom! added three major new players to the company. Anthony Mauro is now a Marketing Lead, coming over from Dark Horse Comics. Social Media Producer Adrian Lopez brings experience from Skybound Entertainment, and Austin Fraley rounds out the Sales Assistant position after being a Crunchyroll and Packrat Con representative.

I think it’s great to see a company welcome its new members so publicly, as well as increasing their transparency and engagement by putting names and faces to the responsibilities of the brand.

Back when I was in school, Hatchet was the gold standard for boy-in-the-woods vibes. Dark Horse Comics is bringing that style story back around with Lost Boy, written and drawn by director Jay Martin. Martin’s graphic novel follows a young boy’s attempts to find his way back to civilization after an accident in remote Wyoming. Martin handled both the writing and art on this novel and here’s hope it’s half as iconic as the memes of dogs “punching” Shawn Mendes in Martin’s 2015 music video. You can pre-order Lost Boy here.

DC announced a ton of changes this week, including the cancellation of Doom Patrol and Titans on HBO Max, creative teams for three new titles – Cyborg, Titans, and Green Lantern, and the trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

While Image celebrated the first look at Invincible‘s second season on Amazon Prime and the comic’s upcoming 20th anniversary, they also announced a new title called Junk Rabbit hitting comic shops in April. Focusing on how the heroes of tomorrow are shaped by today’s ecological waste, Junk Rabbit is being billed as “Swamp Thing meets Robo-Cop” and that’s certainly attention-grabbing. Issue #1 hits stands in April, but you can already pre-order the first trade paperback volume on Amazon for delivery in the fall.
