Merch Moment: Green With Envy

I have a confession.

My go-to make-up products are actually comic-book themed. I wear Revolution’s Batman X This City Needs Me Forever pallet on almost a daily basis. (I bought it because it has a color named Crime Ally. Not Crime Alley, as in where Batman’s parents were shot. Crime Ally, as in “Yes, Crime. I will support you!”) I wear the “Bat-signal” highlighter, and “Vengeance” lip gloss. So I’m always on the hunt for more wild comics themed merchandise to bring to my newfound make-up routine. And this week I found some more.

Marvel and Urban Decay released two new eyeshadow pallets as a promotion for She-Hulk on Disney+. One has 13 colors and a layering topper shade, and the other is a mini pallet with six shades.

Surprisingly, there’s not much green in them. The full-sized pallet offers two greens- one of which being the topper shade- with a mix of browns, plus a very vibrant blue and purple shade. It’s probably good for casual wear, but it’s almost a little lackluster in terms of the wildness that She-Hulk and Titania could offer. This pallet is retailing for $45.

The mini pallet is exclusively browns, but with a warmer reddish tone. I’d say this one is more inspired by Jameela Jamil’s Titania, but it’s also missing that spark of outlandish glamour the character embodies.

However, once again, this choice of a slightly more natural tone with shimmer is probably more wearable than what I would picture for this collaboration. It’s more affordable at $25.

As of now, these are the only products in this crossover. I’m hopeful that more will eventually become available. I’d love to see Green, Silver, and Red liquid liners to play into the punchy graphic eyeliner trend, as well as some eye crystals like Jamil’s in promotional images. I’m also holding out hope for a lip color of some kind.

Both pallets are available now on the Urban Decay Website.
